Hospitalist Services

When admitted to a hospital a patient is oftentimes assigned a hospitalist, a physician who is specifically trained to manage the care of patients while they are in the hospital. Our hospitalists work closely with the patient's primary care physician as well as coordinate patient care with various specialists, surgeons, nurses, rehabilitation programs, discharge planning, clergy and others.

From admission through discharge the hospitalist will communicate appropriate information to the patient, their family and the patient's primary care physician. Once discharged, medical care is resumed by the patient's primary care physician.

Our hospitalists are board certified in internal medicine and practice in our affiliated hospitals including: Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital, Providence Holy Cross Medical Center, Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center and Valley Presbyterian Hospital.
